Born in Malmö, in the south of Sweden, into a family of journalists and writers, Max Furstenberg was surrounded by storytelling from an early age. Both of his parents worked in journalism, writing books, movie scripts, and reporting on news, which shaped his interest in storytelling. While journalism had a strong influence, he eventually found his passion in telling stories through photography and film.

As a newborn, he moved with his family to America when his father took a job as a correspondent for a Swedish newspaper. Over the years, the influence of journalism remained a constant in his life.

In the mid-2000s, Max moved to Iceland, drawn by a deep interest in the North and the Arctic. His first connection to Greenland came during a journey by small fishing boat from Iceland to Greenland, crossing the Denmark Strait. This experience sparked a lasting bond with the Arctic and led to 18 years of charity work in Greenland. He has worked with an Icelandic NGO, supporting indigenous communities in remote settlements while documenting life through his lens.

After his time in Iceland, Max spent many years successfully running his own business in the nightclubbing industry. Throughout, he continued photographing, though initially as a hobby. Eventually, he decided to fully pursue his passion for photography and moved to Vancouver, Canada, to study film and photography.

In 2024, his focus is on establishing himself as a journalist photographer, working internationally. He is eager to cover stories all over the world, from the Middle East to North America and beyond. Ready to travel on short notice, he can fly anywhere to capture important moments. He also continues his work in Greenland and is working toward starting his own NGO to further support the communities there, alongside his ongoing work with the Icelandic NGO.

His photography has been published in multiple magazines and newspapers, showcasing his ability to tell compelling stories through powerful images. He specializes in press and journalism photography, with a focus on politics and international relations, and is comfortable in high-action environments, whether at a political rally or in a conflict zone.
